Wayne State University - Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

Announcing a new Pcard Service Provider!

Why the Change?

At the end of a 10 year agreement with PNC, the University conducted a Request for Proposal (RFP) for pcard services to investigate new bank service opportunities. After evaluating several proposals and discussing options with other state universities, Wayne State has decided to participate in a State of Michigan MiDeal contract opportunity with Bank of America.

 What’s changed?

Nothing yet. The transition process will take 6-8 weeks to implement. Bank of America shares the same VISA platform as the previous banking institution PNC. As a result, cardholders should not anticipate any change in card functionality or vendor acceptance.

Cardholders should be mindful of any vendors, online websites or recurring payments that rely on the PNC card information.  The switch to Bank of America WILL result in a new 16 digit card account number and expiration date.

Benefits

As we begin the roll out of the new card program, we will be investigating ways of simplifying the card delivery process.  The change will also allow for a redesigned/rebranded card, along with several administrative opportunities to streamline our procurement & payables processes.
