Office of Housing & Residential Life - Wayne State University

Greetings Residents!

We hope this message finds you well! As many of you may know, in the President’s Town Hall on October 21st, our Director of Residence Life, Nikki Dunham, announced that we are adjusting the guest policy to allow residential students to visit each other in the residence halls and apartment buildings on campus. With the input of full time and student staff and leaders, we have reviewed and adjusted the guest policy as follow:

  • Residents may have 1 guest at a time.
  • Guests must have an active housing assignment.
  • Guest must present their green daily screener and OneCard with a building sticker.
  • Guests should wear or be able to produce a valid guest pass at all times.
  • Only OneCards will be accepted as identification.
  • All University COVID-19 guidelines for face coverings and social distancing should be followed.
  • For more information regarding the guest policy during COVID-19, please see the Community Living Guide.

This change will go into effect immediately.

Housing & Residential Life would like to commend you - it is through your adaptability to our COVID-19 mitigation strategies and determination that this change was able to happen. All of the masks, screeners, flu shots, testing and more is seen and appreciated. The safety measures you’ve taken keep our communities Warrior Safe and Warrior Strong!
