Computing & Information Technology - Wayne State University

Dear Wayne State employee,

Select Microsoft Teams telephone numbers will undergo maintenance next week beginning at 7 a.m., Monday, July 31, as a part of the Unified Communications Project. Specific change dates will be shared with impacted users soon.

  • Recommended troubleshooting: If you experience issues accessing Teams and/or the Calls feature after this change, please log out of the application and re-authenticate.
  • Dialing between university lines: Internal calls between university telephone lines may continue to be impacted and we recommend dialing full 10-digit phone numbers.
  • Call waiting: This change includes the option to turn on call-waiting when in an active Teams call. Learn how to apply this feature at kb.wayne.edu/500537.

Project update

Timelines for the Unified Communications project have been altered due to modifications with our service providers. Phase 1 users who have already been migrated to Teams Calls must be transitioned to the new provider before other phases can begin. We recognize the importance of telecommunications across university operations and thank you for your patience as we work with our vendors to facilitate this project.
