We Want Our Bodies Back! We Want Our Bodies Back!  

Join us at 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 as we welcome internationally renowned poet, playwright, performance artist and producer jessica Care moore to the WSU campus. She will speak at the David Adamany Undergraduate Library on the topic "We Want Our Bodies Back!" moore is a Detroit native and the CEO of Moore Black Press, executive producer of Black WOMEN Rock!, and founder of the Jess Care Moore Foundation.

Engage with TRIO  

Wayne State students, faculty and staff, and members of the surrounding community are invited to engage with the Office of Federal TRIO as part of National TRIO Week this month. The office will host a pair of events: the On the Road/Rally for TRIO on Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., where guests are invited to the Student Center Building to meet TRIO staff and learn more about the office's programs and initiatives, and the National TRIO Day of Service on Feb. 27, where, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., staff and friends of TRIO will volunteer at The W Food Pantry.

Letters to Black Girls Project Letters to Black Girls Project  

The Letters to Black Girls Project’s goal is “to inspire black girls through feminist, anti-racist, anti-respectability politics and pro-black letters from black women.” Share your experiences and words of encouragement with young girls and teens by coming to the Student Center Building, room 792, to write a letter. Event date is Feb. 26. The Office of Multicultural Student Engagement will submit your letter to the project. 

Flint water drive  

The Black Student Union is holding its annual Flint water drive, collecting donations of bottled water for residents still without access to clean water. Donations will be accepted until March 21. To schedule drop-off donations, please call 313-577-5052.

Michele Norris: Eavesdropping on America's Conversation on Race Michele Norris: Eavesdropping on America's Conversation on Race  

Award-winning radio journalist Michele Norris, former longtime co-host of NPR’s All Things Considered, will share her experiences with race, culture and communication in a keynote lecture called “Eavesdropping on America's Conversation on Race,” at 2 p.m. on March 31 in the Student Center Ballroom at Wayne State University. The event is free and open to the public.
