Watson joins Charles J. Strosacker Foundation Board

Lydia Watson, M.D., has been elected to the board of directors of the Charles J. Strosacker Foundation.

The foundation was established in 1957 by Charles J. Strosacker, a Dow Chemical pioneer. The foundation granted more than $3.4 million in 2017.

Watson is the vice-president and chief medical officer at MidMichigan Health. She oversees clinical quality, patient experience and safety components of the entire health system.

While serving with MidMichigan Health, her excellence has been affirmed by her role, including chief of staff and board member of MidMichigan Health-Midland and member of the Joint Operating Council of Michigan Medicine, the health care division of the University of Michigan.

Watson is an active volunteer with Shelterhouse and has served as medical director for the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) program. She has done additional volunteer work with the American Heart Association's Go Red event and Midland Public Schools Sex Advisory Council.

Watson obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry from Wayne State University, graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine and is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is married and has two children.
