The Fire This Time: Conversations in Black Thought The Fire This Time: Conversations in Black Thought  

"The Fire This Time: Conversations in Black Thought" is a speaker series that will examine questions of history, protest, nation, justice, and freedom. As part of the series, writers Kiese Laymon and Rae Paris explore the urgencies and possiblities of radial black love. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on March 28 at 2:45 p.m. at 46 Helen L. DeRoy Auditorium.

School of Social Work conference empowers community members to explore social change ventures  

The Wayne State School of Social Work, the Mike Ilitch School of Business and OptimizeWayne will host the second annual social entrepreneurship conference on April 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mike Ilitch School of Business. The event is $10 for Wayne State students and costs $35 for all others. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Southeastern Michigan Junior Science & Humanities Symposium    Southeastern Michigan Junior Science & Humanities Symposium  

The Southeastern Michigan Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (JSHS) program, housed in the Wayne State College of Education and sponsored by the U.S. Army Education Outreach Programs, will be held all day on Friday, March 8, at the WSU McGregor Conference Center. Students from high schools throughout southeastern Michigan can receive scholarship awards at the regional and national levels.
