Beta Gamma Sigma transitions to full-fledged student organization

Beta Gamma Sigma is the nation’s premier honor society recognizing business excellence. The Wayne State University chapter was chartered in 1979. Since then, hundreds of outstanding students have earned membership. After decades of existence as an honor society, BGS is ready to take the next step by becoming an officially recognized WSU student organization.

What does becoming an active student organization mean? In addition to honoring academic achievement, BGS will now broaden its focus to offer valuable programming, networking, philanthropy and social activities. These activities are part of a Beta Gamma Sigma’s national initiative to encourage active engagement of campus chapters.

The student organization is ready to start this new phase of its existence. Alexa Gates is the founding student president and is joined by the following officers: Austin Mertins, VP-Finance; Siknah Chehab, VP-Public Relations; Steven Kudla, VP-Social Media; Quinn Warwick, VP-Programming; Brittani Jackson, VP-Alumni Liaison; Tyler Keith, VP-Member at Large and Matt Stieber, VP-Member at Large.

Professor Timothy Butler serves as the faculty advisor, and Jim Low is the faculty advisor emeritus.
