WSU accounting professionals honored at 2014 MICPA Awards Dinner

As usual, Wayne State University had a strong presence at the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants’ (MICPA) annual Awards Dinner on Tuesday, September 30, at Shenandoah Country Club in West Bloomfield. The evening was a celebration of those who have made an impact in their industry and in the community.

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder received the MICPA’s Outstanding CPA in Government Impact Award, and he and his family attended the celebratory event to help honor other CPAs for their remarkable achievements.

The Wayne State University School of Business Administration received the MICPA Firm/Employer Appreciation Award. In addition to this institutional recognition, several members of the WSU community were also honored, including:

Randolph C. Paschke: A past chair of the Department of Accounting at WSU and current director of external relations and community engagement in the business school, Paschke was recognized for his service to the MICPA over the past two years as the chairman of its board of directors.

George G. Johnson: A WSU alumnus (B.S. ’66) and member of the School of Business Administration Board of Visitors, Johnson received the Distinguished Service Award.

Albert D. Spalding: An associate professor of accounting at Wayne State, Spalding was honored for his service on the MICPA’s Ethics Task Force.
