Welcome our new SBA professors

We are pleased to announce three new faculty appointments in the School of Business Administration. Bringing to our school fresh perspectives about their area of study, as well as enthusiasm and a commitment to providing a quality educational experience for both our undergraduate and graduate students, they join a vibrant faculty with a rich history of scholarship and classroom innovation.  

Hugo DeCampos
Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management
Specialty in Operations & Supply Chain Management

Professor DeCampos’ research interests concern strategic sourcing and managing the supply chain in order to maximize innovation performance as the desired outcome. He recently completed a successful decade in supply chain at General Motors, with assignments in Michigan, Oklahoma and, most recently, in Shanghai where he was responsible for $1.5 billion in purchases for GM Asia Pacific. Electing to pursue a long-held personal goal of a second career in academia, DeCampos recently completed his doctoral studies.

Prior to earning his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in May 2013, he received a master’s degree in international management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and an M.B.A. from Arizona State University West.

John Heinrichs
Associate Professor, Department of Management & Information Systems
Specialty in Inbound Information Technology

In his research, Professor Heinrichs focuses on how information technology can provide business and organizations with optimal placement in the marketplace. His research interests include competitive intelligence, data mining, eLearning, knowledge management, search engine optimization (SEO), social media and inbound marketing. He incorporates these research interests with students in his Inbound Information Technologies course (ISM 7505), where students begin to understand how to position an organization in cyberspace. Discussion focuses on SEO, links, RSS syndication, blogging, page ranking, tweeting, publishing and tagging content, email campaigns, and social media.  

He earned his Ph.D. in manufacturing management/information systems from the University of Toledo and an M.B.A., from Bowling Green State University.

Chansog (Francis) Kim
Associate Professor, Department of Accounting
Specialty in Financial, Managerial and International Accounting

Professor Kim’s research and teaching interests cover financial, managerial and international accounting. His most recently co-authored paper, "Political Geography and Stock Returns: The Value of Implications of Indirect Access to Political Power," was recently accepted for publication by the Journal of Finanical Economics. Prior to joining WSU’s business school, Kim taught at City University of Hong Kong where he served as the Ph.D. program coordinator for the accounting department and held membership on the university’s Board of Graduate Studies, the Business Studies Graduate Committee and the Departmental Executive Committee.

He earned his Ph.D. in accounting from Baruch College, The City University of New York, and an M.B.A. from Western Illinois University.
